Dippers trip to Bygones Museum
Dippers went back in time on Friday 9th November when they visited Bygones museum in Torquay. When they arrived they changed in to old Victorian clothing and then went and saw lots of different rooms in a Victorian house. They then went downstairs and learnt all about an old Victorian street, they looked in shop windows and saw all the different toys the children would of had. All the children had a fantastic time but they all said they prefer their toys!
On Monday 5th November Dippers found out about Fireworks and why we have Bonfire night. The children used pipe cleaners as a stamp and made their own firework pictures, they even used glitter to make their fireworks sparkle!
Dippers have been learning how to weave, during their Forest School session they collected wood to make their looms, then they had to create their weaves. They all worked really hard with their partners and created some brilliant shapes and weaves
This week Dippers took their science learning outside, the children worked in pairs and had to draw around each other and then label the different parts of the body. You can see from the pictures that they worked hard and really enjoyed their learning!
Dippers have been learning about their senses, they have been smelling, touching and tasting different fruits including apples, bananas and lemons! They finished by eating a jelly baby and holding their nose,
they found out that while they were eating it they could feel it but not taste it!
Dippers spent Tuesday afternoon at Forest School in the field looking for bugs and insects. They found lots of different creatures, have a look at the photos below and see how many can you name!
Dippers have been busy creating self portraits, they had to think about the size of their face and where their features would go. They used oil pastels and added in lots of detail. Have a look below at some of their amazing work.
Dippers have made amazing art from natural materials. Can you find yours?
